Birdwatching at Rancho Milagro
Our guests have seen the following birds around the house or while walking on our land. American Kestrel, Raven, Northern Harrier, Red Tailed Hawk. Northern Mockingbird, Curved-billed Thrasher, Western Meadowlark, Scaled Quail and Great-tailed Grackle, Turkey Vulture, Red-tailed Hawk, American Kestrel, Scaled Quail, Rock Dove, Mourning Dove, White-winged Dove, Great-horned Owl (heard calling at night), Black-chinned Hummingbird, Costa’s Hummingbird, Gila Woodpecker, Say’s Phoebe, Cassin’s Kingbird, Western Kingbird, Common Raven, Barn Swallow, Curve-billed Thrasher, Orange-crowned Warbler, Yellow Warbler, Botteri’s Sparrow, Western Meadowlark, House Finch, House Sparrow. A Merlin and a Loggerhead Shrike were observed just outside of the guest room patio.
